Mastectomy Surgery Procedures
Gynecomastia or the male mastectomy surgery procedure is a plastic surgery procedure that corrects enlarged breast tissue on men. Enlarged breasts in men can occur for many reasons and often leave men with lower self esteem and some men may avoid physical activities due to feeling self conscious about their appearance.
The exact technique used for a mastectomy surgery procedure varies and depends on the amount of fat that needs to be removed. The specifics of your surgery should be discussed with Dr. Harrell.

Your Tampa Consultation
When you arrive at the Fountain of Youth Institute®, you will be greeted by our warm and caring staff. During the consultation, you will have an opportunity to meet with Dr. Harrell in order to discuss your specific areas of concern and together develop a treatment plan that will provide you with your desired results.
The consultation is a great time to ask any questions about the procedure, expected recovery process and to address any concerns you might have.
You will be given specific instructions as it relates to the post operative period, but generally you can expect 24-48 hours of discomfort. Pain medication is prescribed to you prior to surgery to minimize your discomfort. Many of our patients return to work within a week but strenuous physical activity is limited for a few weeks. Any concerns you have about the recovery process should be discussed with Dr. Harrell.
