Tell Me More About Licensed Personnel for Anesthesia and Post-Surgical Recovery
You will be pleased to know that anesthesia care in an accredited or licensed surgical facility is totally comparable to the care received in a hospital. I recommend to patients who are having a surgical procedure that:
- Anesthesia should be administered by trained, licensed personnel acting under the direction of an anesthesiologist or the operating surgeon;
- Before any type of anesthesia is used, the surgeon or anesthetist must take your full medical history, which may include a physical examination and related lab tests. Both the surgeon and the anesthesiologist need to know if you have any serious medical problems or have had previous adverse reaction to anesthesia in the past.
- You should make sure you will receive individual monitoring by skilled, licensed personnel before, during and after your procedure.
